Today’s modern buildings are complex, sophisticated machines designed to have low energy and carbon footprints. IDS tracks HVAC, Geothermal, Solar, BAS and lighting system performance every 15 minutes, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and we automatically measure the site and operational EUI. By capturing these data points (tens of thousands every day!), we identify operational problems at the earliest stage, analyze the root causes, and validate that the fix has been successful.

A Facilities Director has their hands full when a new building opens. Dealing with comfort and building performance issues should not be one of the problem areas. IDS is there as part of the team to provide clear, concise information for tracking operations and addressing issues.

Through a series of Energy Performance and Building Performance review meetings – commencing before TCO – we partner with the Facilities team to help them “learn” the building over time using actual, real-time performance data. We also provide a permanent Operational Data Record (ODR) that can be used for on-boarding new team members or for historical analyses.

IDS supports the Owner by staying engaged throughout the ‘shakedown’ and Warranty periods. We turn data into information and deliver it in visual, easy-to-understand graphics.

IDS engagement starts in the Design/Engineering phase to make sure the most modern operating strategies are incorporated. Our role as your team member continues through construction and commissioning to ensure that your building is operating correctly when you move in. Because we know the building top-to-bottom, our On-Going Monitoring (OGM) services continue to support the Owner’s team after everyone else is off the job to track EUI, improve energy performance and address issues that arise.
